OK . Come clean! If you visited this site we
know that you have a certain fondness for this low budget
sound-a-like record label. You either loved them or hated
them. One thing is certain, a lot of talent recorded for
Hit Records of Nashville. Some are familiar names [ Sandy Posey
AKA Betty York, Sherry York ,Betty
Richards, & Sandy,
and Bobby Russell
, Jalopy Five, Beasts, & The
Doodles] and some completely
dropped off the radar. Most artists names used by Hit
Records were completely fictionous while artists Bobby
Russell , John Preston, Herbert Hunter , Alpha Zoe, Benny
Lattimore [Latimore]
and others used their real names on occasion. Do
you have info on this label or the artists? We want your

Wow! I am the son of Bill Beasley who founded Hit
Records. I Connie Sue Landers died Jan. 30,2005. She was 60. She previously had her own group Connie & The Cones and recorded for Hit Records. She was also a popular sessions singer in Nashville for many years. Paul "The Hit Man" Urbahns did it! He has completed the Hit Record discography! The Hit List. The guys that put this project together. Rockin' Ronnie is looking for Hit records to complete his collection. Please EMAIL him if you have any you want to sell or trade. Ronnie has been collecting records for almost forty years and loves the obscure artist because they have not been "played to death" by every oldies station in the world. Paul Urbahns would also like to hear from you if you have Hit records to sell or trade or songs recorded by Hit regardless of the label they were released on [Examples - See Hit #2 & #11 below]. Paul has been collecting and doing research on Hit Records for over 30 years. He is our resident "Hit Man" for details on the record label and artists.
